Quick TEQ: Gionee has released its first ever dual touchscreen flip phone, the Gionee W909 and will be available for about USD 650 or about INR 41,000.
It seems that the Chinese smartphone maker Gionee will be giving its the Samsung SM-W2016 some stiff competition now that they have launched the Gionee W909. Gionee is bring back the flip phone fad, but with a twist. A Dual touchscreen. Yes you’ve heard us right.
Those worrying if they will be able to use the flip screen phone after so long, need not worry as the phone will also have a T9 keyboard with physical keys such as a camera buttion, home button, and navigation keys.
The Android 5.1 powered flip phone has two 4.2” 720 x 1280p IPS LCD screens. Believe it or not, but this dual touchscreen flip phone comes with a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and an octa core processor. Gionee has also decided to give the W909 64 GB of inbuilt storage space, with the option to expand it till 128GB.
The 207 gram Gionee W909 will be having a 16MP primary camera, and a 5MP secondary camera, and will be 124.1X62.8X16.5mm in dimensions. The W909 will house a 2530 mAh battery along with a USB Type C fast charging port. Intial glances on the Gionee W909 suggest that the body will be sporint a metal build.
Gionee also claims that the flip phone will be having a fingerprint scanner below the camera, that will be able to unlock the device in 0.38 seconds.
The Gionee W909 will be costings about USD 650 or about INR 41,000, and is already available for pre order in China, and will soon be available in other parts of the world.
