Quick TEQ: Panasonic has launched its new Eluga Arc smartphone for USD 188 or INR 12,490.
Panasonic’s Eluga Arc features a 4.7 inch IPS 2.5D curved 720 x1280 display, and houses a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 system on a chip cloaked in at 1.2GHz with an Adreno 306 GPU. The Eluga Arc is also powered by 2GB of RAM, and has 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 32GB via microSD card.
The Eluga Arc is a Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0 enabled device that is also dual SIM capable and supports LTE bands, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Panasonic’s Arc an 8MP primary camera with LED flash, and a 5MP secondary camera. We think that Panasonic could have put a better battery in the device, as it only has an 1800 mAh battery. Panasonic stats that the Eluga Arc will only be able to support 4G on one SIM card. Also, the handset will be running Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Business Head of the Mobility Division of Panasonic India commented on the new device saying that “for smartphone users, a major concern is the confidentiality and security of the highly volatile data, with cloud storage usage growing rapidly across segments. This control sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with a single fingerprint is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment. Out first curved display device in the 4G/LTE series, the Arc is rich in technology innovation, including an inbuilt sensor to operate home automated appliances.
All this is being made possible to at the price of USD 188 or INR 12,490.
