RedHat announced it has transferred stewardship of etcd, the primary datastore of Kubernetes, to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation [CNCF].
RedHat says it will continue to work on the project’s development, but that the CNCF will steward etcd’s domains and accounts while the Linux Foundation will manage its trademark. Alibaba Cloud, RedHat, Google Cloud, Amazon, and more will continue to remain as etcd maintainers, however.
